May 4, 2001, Portland, Oregon—If I were a better photographer, I would've done a better job getting Mom from out behind Dad's jacket. I'm not, so there you go. The rest of it is framed pretty well, and the image quality here is quite good. This was one of the first images I took with the Canon S300.
I took this picture the morning after Bret let me stay over at his apartment. For the whole of the week I'd been making the 1 hour 15 minute commute to Portland every morning then back to Salem every evening for business. I figured Thursday night/Friday morning would be a good time not to drive it again. Of course Bret and I stayed up until 3:30 AM talking, so how much time did I really save? =)
Mom and Dad, grasping Opportunity by the lapels and giving it a good shake, decided to drive up Friday morning and take us out to breakfast before Bret and I had to scoot off to work. Yummy food and goofy conversation, which is to say a pretty normal Davison get-together.
