The Choice
Depending on one's perspective, the moment just prior to decision can be one of empowering energy or of gloomy despair. When we stand at the metaphorical forked road, we can scarcely imagine what our next few steps will yield, let alone how our determination will ultimately effect our fate. And laying just beneath the surface of every decision is the dark knowledge that every opportunity has its cost and that not every road may be taken. How we see the choices we make—empowering or debilitating—speaks to how we see ourselves and how we conceptualize the world.
