June 23, 2001, Salem, Oregon—Erin, in the back of Matt and Ginger's U-Haul, prepares to hoist another item for transport into the house. Matt and Ginger had plenty of help moving into their home, and their careful packing and labelling of various boxes made for a speedy unloading of the truck. (We invented other tasks, like trying to cram a queensize boxspring down the basement steps after professional movers had tried, failed, and assured Matt and Ginger that it couldn't be done. After much effort, we concluded that they were right.)
