June, 1996 in Portland, Oregon—Erin becomes a Jedi, receiving her Masters of Education from Portland State University. (This quite thankfully spelled the end of our apartment management careers.)
Shortly before Erin graduated, she was offered a job at St. Francis High School in Mountain View, California. The next day my acceptance to the Masters in Video Production program at Boston's Emerson College came through. Spend approximately $35,000 over two years or make money instead? Hmmm...tough choice, but we opted for the income and moved to California. I deferred the video production dreams until a later date, and concentrated on web site creation, soccer coaching, and music writing.
No regrets.
