This work was prompted by a marvelous scene in The English Patient where a cave of ancient hieroglyphics is discovered. How deep in the human animal is self-expression! And how little has changed in the thousands of years since man began painting on cave walls to record his life and his experience. It is, at its heart, a small attempt to be remembered, to leave something behind, so that when death comes all that we were does not fade into nothingness.
The cave painting of today is done in HTML, but the reasons, I suspect, are much the same.
Created using Adobe Photoshop 3.0.5 on an Apple Power Macintosh 7500/100.
