July 26 2001, Portland, Oregon—Erin's parents Bernard and Liz are friends with the parents of Bob Cassidy (center) who owns Cassidy's, a Portland-area restaurant and bar. We arrived for a meal (I recommend the chicken) around 6 PM, and the lack of other customers had us a little worried about the financial viability of the place. By the time we left, the joint was jumpin', so obviously our concern was misplaced. Neat hangout, nice guy.
